On our way to our favorite coast getaway in Yachats last week, we stopped by the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. In their display tidepools, they had specimens of the prolific sea life in the Oregon tidal zone. There was a wonderful selection of sea anemones, starfish, mussels, and sea cucumbers to view and touch.

The seas bounty is a playground for our eyes to enjoy!

These photos are beautiful. I love the diversity of tidal pools. We were in OR just last week but on the other side of the mountains – thus no tidal pools. Thanks for sharing these lovely photos.

My pleasure. You’ll have to make it out to the coast next time you are in Oregon and stop by!

Love the Hatfield! But north of Yachats at Seal rock at low tide, you can see many of these same things in the wild.

Actually..we were on our way to Yachats, (one of my favorite places) and did stop at Seal Beach. The nice thing about the Hatfield is it’s low tide all the time!
